RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) - Israeli soldiers shot dead two Palestinians in separate incidents near the West Bank city of Ramallah, medics said. Abdel Kader Zeid, 17, died after being shot in the chest outside the Jewish settlement of Beit-El late on Tuesday, the medics said on Wednesday. The Israeli military said soldiers had opened fire at a man who was brandishing a petrol bomb. "Petrol bombs were later found at the spot," an army spokeswoman said. "Over the past days, petrol bombs have been thrown at Beit-El and the soldiers led an ambush to catch the perpetrators," she said. An Israeli army spokesman confirmed that "dozens of Palestinians took part in riots near an army post near Beit El, hurling rocks and burning tyres."
