Chinese hostage escapes from Taliban: military

A Chinese engineer taken hostage in Pakistan seven weeks ago escaped from his Taliban kidnappers and found his way to an army post, the military said Friday. "One Chinese engineer has been recovered," said army spokesman Colonel Nadeem Ahmed. A second Chinese hostage was injured in the escape bid before he was re-captured, Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan told Agencies. "Last night an incident happened after which one Chinese engineer was injured and the other went missing," Khan said.
