KARACHI - Pakistan Railway (PR) has resumed the operations of Mehran Express which run from Karachi to Mirpurkhas, said a railway official. The PR official said that after the suspension of the said train, it had been restarted from Wednesday. The people and labourers welcomed and expressed their joy over the resumption of said route. It is pertinent to mention here that the train was suspended on December 27, 2007, when many trains were damaged by the miscreants during the violence took place after the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi. The railway officials including DS Karachi, the labour leaders, president of Pakistan Railway Workers' union, Mansoor Razi, Muqaddar Zaman and others present on the occasion. While a number of labourers was also present at various railway stations including Karachi Cantt Station, Landhi, Hyderabad, Kotri and Mirpurkhas.
