KARACHI - Fifty suspected people were detained in house-to-house search operations in various neighbourhoods in the city on Sunday. In a swoop on Hijrat Colony in Sultanabad area, law enforcement agencies, including the Sindh Rangers, police and a heavy contingent of commandos of the Special Protection Group, rounded up at least 30 suspects. Two offices of political groups were also law searched by the security agencies. However, there was no confirmation about recovery of any weapon during the operation. In another foray, the law enforcers captured at least a dozen suspects from Hussain Hazara Goth of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Ten suspected people were apprehended by rangers officials in an early morning raid on Mehran Town in Korangi area. Sources said the rangers also arrested a dozen suspects in raids on North Nazimabad, KBR Society, Lasbella, Qasba Colony, Old Golimar and Ayesha Apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
