LAHORE MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain has asked the party leaders to make Punjab a power base of its activities, adding, that he would land in Lahore ,whenever, he decides to return to Pakistan. He also said that country was facing grave external dangers, however, the MQM would counter all the threats facing the country alongside the Pak Army. He expressed these views while addressing a training workshop of City chapter workers via telephone from London on Sunday. Altaf said that a revolution in Punjab was imminent and MQM would convert all palaces of feudal and industrial lords into boys and girls schools and colleges. He stated that conspiracies were being hatched to dissolve the Parliament in order to oust the MQM out of power but the party would emerge as victorious in the next polls. Altaf further said that a negative propaganda was started after MQMs popularity wave in the province and the party was painted as an anti-State force. He said that no agency could establish even one inch of land owned by himself in Pakistan. He said that MQM was blamed for poor law and order situation in Karachi while MQM also lost 14 of its workers in the incident of May 12. Without naming Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, Altaf Hussain said he was indulging in blasphemy. He asked the Ulema and Mashaikh to take notice of the blasphemous remarks of the former Sindh Minister and appealed to the Chief Justice to take notice of the statements of that person. Altaf said that All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation (APMSO) was banned in educational institutions. He said while Jalianwala Bagh massacre is remembered even today but nobody cares for the massacre of people in Qasba Colony, Karachi. He said the MQM was charged with extortions, target killings and ethnic violence, which is absurd. He said in Punjab incidents of kidnapping, murder and dacoities take place every day. He said there are certain districts in Southern Punjab where it is impossible for a single person to travel at night. He said in Lyari, gangs committed all sorts of crimes against the Urdu speaking people. He said there is no leader in the country like him who earned livelihood on Rehris and from tuition. He asked MQM leaders and workers to donate blood for the dengue patients and present them bouquets. Referring to the issue of national security, he appealed for national unity saying the US was out to harm Pakistan. He said the MQM workers would sacrifice their lives but nobody would be allowed to damage the country.
