LAHORE (APP) - Investigation of any criminal case can not be changed which has not even yet initiated. This decision was announced by Chairman of five-member Change of Board of Investigation of capital city police SSP Abdul Razzaq Cheema. Police told APP on Sunday that the complainant of FIR 833/11 of Police Station Civil Line, moved an application to board for change of investigation on flimsy grounds. Board was today informed that Investigation Officer Nausheer Ali is on rest due to high fever and investigation into the case has not yet been initiated on merit. The board comprising all five Additional Superintendents of Police of investigation wing assisted by Police Law Officer unanimously rejected the change of investigation petition. Board Chairman further observed that trend of change of investigation without any plausible grounds must be checked so that investigation could be completed on time. He said that no investigation is changed unless the members of the board were convinced logically and strict action is taken against officer in case of defective investigation which lead to dismissal from service. Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that the interest of quick administration of justice and to fully ensure transparent investigation absolutely on merit, it was decided that no accused will be taken into police custody unless he is proved guilty. He said that he would never tolerate injustice with any citizen in his domain in criminal matters and fully address genuine grievance on priority.
