LAHORE The Pepco and distribution companies have resumed 6 to 14 hours electricity loadshedding schedule after halting it temporarily on the direction of Prime Minister Gilani. As per reports gathered from various districts, Pepco authorities were observing different loadshedding schedules in different areas of the province ranging from 6 to 16 hours and citizens were furious over governments power policies. Sources disclosed that Finance Ministry had failed to pay the second instalment of payments to the Independent Power Plants (IPPs) due to which their management decreased the production of electricity leading to the shortfall of 3,200 MW. The masses,now, have to face loadshedding of 6 to 14 hours a day including six to eight hours in urban and 8 to 14 hours in rural areas. As per reports from Sargodha, there was unscheduled power breakdown of 14 to 16 hours due to which business activities were hit by the loadshedding. In Phularwan, 8 to 10 hours loadshedding schedule was being followed by Wapda authorities, due to which people were having sleepless nights. There were similar reports from Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Shorkot and Pir Mahal.
