LAHORE- Higher police officers have ordered the registration of case against six police officials including the SHO Kot Lakhpat police for allegedly torturing 52-year old Abdul Razzaq as a result of which he died in hospital. According to details, a resident of Chungi Amrsidhu one Orangzaib son of deceased Abdul Razzaq was required to police in drug case and the police arrested his father from his house and took him to police station where he was badly tortured by around six police officials. The heirs of the deceased staged protest against the aforesaid police officials after that the higher police officials reached on the spot and suspended the SHO besides ordering the registration of case against them. Police has sent the body of Abdul Razzaq to mortuary for postmartum and assured the heirs of the deceased of justice without any discrimination. Meanwhile, police authorities concerned have ordered the probe into the matter of sale of a dead body to a Health Organisation by a sub-inspector of Shafiq Abad police station. The authorities also constituted the investigation committee comprising senior police officers. According to sources, Shafiq Abad police had recovered a dead body from its limits on October, 5 and one sub inspector Zulifqar had sent the body to Mayo Hospital mortuary after the legal formalities but after that the dead body was allegedly sold to a Health Organisation and record of the body was also disappeared. The investigation team would present its report within next three days and action would be taken against the responsible persons in accordance with the findings of the report.
