A feather in PMDC chief’s cap







ISLAMABAD - President Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) Prof Syed Sibitul Hasnain has been elected as a leader of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) in its biannual meeting in Ottawa, Canada.
According to the press release issued by the PMDC here on Tuesday, the other world leaders elected to the prestigious status include Philip Pigou, Chief Executive of the Medical Council of New Zealand, Niall Dickson, Chief Executive and Registrar of the General Medical Council UK, Prof Kieran Murphy, President of the Irish Medical Council and Dr Joanna Flynn, Chair of the Medical Board of Australia.
The PM&DC president has been returned to the management committee by the world body for a second term and this is a singular honor for Pakistan and the entire region specially the Muslim world. Since 2008, Pakistan has been an international leader in registration of practitioners and medical education and the president PM&DC thanked the world medical regulatory authorities for reposing their confidence in PM&DC and its processes and rules.
