Hoti urges Pakhtuns to join hands against militancy


PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti Tuesday said the Malala incident unveiled the real face of militants to the masses, so it was the time for Pakhtuns to join hands against militancy.
“We have no personal enmity with anyone, but we are fighting the war of Pakhtuns survival, and those who are enemies of peace, knowledge and development are our enemies,” he remarked while addressing the second death anniversary of Mian Rashid Hussain, son of KPK Minister for Information Mian Ifitkhar Hussain, at Neshtar Hall Peshawar. Provincial President Awami National Party, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, provincial General Secretary ANP Arbab Tahir Khalil and other leaders from the far-flung areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were present on the occasion.
The chief minister said that for the first time in the history, the nation demonstrated unity against militants and this unity would defeat the philosophy of extremist elements in the country. He said those who are loving peace, education and development are their brothers, but those who are pushing the people towards darkness, ignorance and terrorism are their enemies. He said such an enemy deserves strict action, which would be continuing till to their complete elimination.
Paying tribute to the martyred Mian Rashid Hussain, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that today on the eve of his second anniversary they are proud that soldiers of Bacha Khan are ready to sacrifice and there is no less number of such people in the convoy of non-violent philosopher Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan.
He said that the he fulfilled his promise of establishing Mian Rashid Hussain University in Nowshera, in which thousands of students attaining education. He also announced a grant of Rs 20 million for Mian Rashid Hussain Trust and vowed that this fund would be increased with the passage of time.
Addressing on the occasion Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that today he is proud that his son who rendered his life for the cause of Pakhtun nation and today he naming his award of bravery at the name of Awami National Party which is a representative of the Pakhtun nation.
He said that it is not a single person and party who are against terrorist but now the entire nation is against their thoughts. Paying tributes to Mala Yousufzai, he said that she was an icon of peace, knowledge and he represented the Pakistani children.
