PCB ‘distances’ itself from World XI T20s

LAHORE - The Pakistan Cricket Board has distanced itself from the two Twenty20 matches being played between the World XI and Pakistan Stars XI on October 20, 21 at National Stadium Karachi.
The matches are being organised by Sindh Sports Minister Dr M Ali Shah with the help of a private sports management company. But the PCB on Tuesday had said that though it supported the matches yet the foolproof security, anti-corruption measures, marketing and broadcasting of the matches remained the responsibility of the organisers. The PCB, in a statement after a meeting of its Executive Coordination Committee (ECC), said: “But all other obligations including security, anti-corruption, marketing and broadcasting etc are direct responsibility of the organiser and were to be managed by Shah.”
“The ECC acknowledged good initiative taken by Dr Shah and hoped that the matches will be a great success and expected that for the event foolproof security would be arranged by Shah and his team,” it added.
The source said Shah had been striving hard to make the event a success, but PCB, on the other hand, distanced itself from the international event.
