HAFIZABAD - Punjab Special Health Secretary Babar Hayyat Tarar has said that the provincial government is providing quality healthcare to the masses across the province without any discrimination. He was talking to media during a visit to under construction Trauma Centre and District Headquarters Hospital here on Tuesday.

Acting DCO Sohail Ahmad Khan, EDO Health Dr Farooq Azam Tarar, DO Buildings Raja Lahrasab Khan, DHQ Hospital MS Dr Irshad Ahmad Chattha and DO Budget Riaz Ghani Basit were also present on the occasion.

The provincial secretary said that the state-of-art Trauma Centre would be made functional shortly with the cost of Rs250 million.  He assured that special steps would be taken for providing better healthcare facilities in the RHCs and BHUs across the province. He said that shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in hospitals would be addressed and provision of free of cost medicines to the poor patients would also be ensured at all costs.

Babar Tarar said that provision of health facilities to the masses at their doorsteps was the top priority of the present government and a sum of Rs16 billion had been earmarked in the current budget for the purpose. 

On the occasion, the EDO Health and DHQ Hospital MS briefed the secretary about available medical facilities and shortage being faced by the District Health Department.
