LAHORE – Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman has said that that the police officials and officers who are providing protection to the lives and properties of the citizens by putting the lives at stake deserve appreciation at top government level. The head-money amount distributed among these officers/officials for their commendable services can never be a matching reward. These hardworking officers are an asset of the department and their services must be acknowledged.

The provincial police chief stated this while addressing the prize-distribution ceremony held at Central Police Office (CPO) on Tuesday. According to a police spokesperson, the IGP distributed cash-prizes and commentary certificates among the brave police officers/officials for capturing and eliminating the most wanted and hardened criminals, having head-money worth millions of rupees.  Additional-IG (Investigation) Punjab Naseem-ul-Zaman, DIG (Investigation) Punjab Abubakar Khuda Bukhsh, and SSP (Investigation) Dr Muhammad Abid Khan were also present on this occasion besides other senior officers.

The IGP distributed cash prizes worth Rs 1.9 million among 58 police officers/officials from all over the province for playing leading role in the operations in which at least seven hardened criminals were either captured or killed. Two other police officials were also given commendatory certificates for their outstanding performance.

According to details, the police arrested PO Muhammad Shafi alias Shafia of Muzaffar Garh district with head money of 500,000, Muhammad Kamran PO of Khanewal district with head-money of Rs 100,000, Iftikhar alias Billa PO of Pakpattan district with head-money of Rs 200,000.
