Operation against Chotu gang continues, Punjab Constabulary officers called back for Muharram duty

RAJANPUR - Operation against Rajanpur’s Chotu Gang is underway whereas Punjab constabulary officers have been called back to serve their duties on Muharram.

The operation against Chotu Mazari, a notorious dacoit and his accomplices has stepped in the sixteenth day. Police have said that the gang is now besieged in Jamal Two area and they are hopeful of success as there is no way out.

As per details, Elite Force officials have been deployed at check posts while police have cleared Kacha Karachi, Kacha Moro and Kacha Jamal One areas.

On the other hand, Punjab constabulary officials were summoned back for their scheduled duties on the occasion of 9 and 10 Muharram-ul-Haram.

The operation has not seen a major breakthrough in the past eight days. Contrary to what should have been the case police have lost a head constable while seven personnel and four passersby also sustained severe injuries. A woman and a 12-year-old boy were reported injured during exchange of fire with armed criminals. Police from Ghotki and Rahim Yar Khan are also participating in the operation besides the Rajanpur police. Police also have assistance of Rangers and Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
