Punjab Health Services Director General (DG) Dr Munir Ahmad has said that 12-day anti-measles campaign was in full swing across the province and during the last two days, a total 3,712,006 children - aged between six months to seven years - have been inoculated.
He said that skilled workers were executing their duties with dedication and professional zeal, due to that access coverage beyond the target is carried out.
Giving details of the campaign, Dr Munir Ahmad informed that the target for two days was fixed at 3,341,136 but the vaccination teams of the health department vaccinated more children, hence they have achieved 111 per cent target.
Sharing data of some important districts, the Punjab Health DG was of the view that the vaccine, which was being used in this campaign, was WHO certified. He said that the same measles vaccine is not only being used in other provinces but the other countries are also using the same vaccine which is safe and of the best quality.
