People stage protest against revenue officials’ corruption in Mardan

Mardan-Scores of residents of Rustam on Saturday staged a protest demonstration here outside the Press Club against the service delivery centre (SDC) and revenue department officials for alleged corruption.
The protest rally of residents of Char Gulai Rustam was carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. They were also chanted slogans against the SDC employees and officials.
Later on, addressing a news conference here at press club, resident of Char Kaly Rustam, Habibullah told the media that in 2017 he purchased 15 kanal 11 marla land from his brother Saifullah Khan. He added that he transferred the mentioned land on his name through the registry in 2017.
He added that with the connivance of SDC staff his brother again got a fard in 2020 from SDC and sold the mentioned land to another person.       He said that on his application, the anti-corruption department registered an FIR against 7 people including his brother Saifullah, Adnan employee of SDC, Khair Mohammad, Shahid and others.
He added that later on, the SDC Mardan employees started to protest against the anti-corruption department   and closed the SDC as protest. He alleged that SDC has become a hub of corruption. He added that alleged corruption is continued in full swing in SDC Mardan.
He added that the concerned district authorities are not bothered about the alleged corruption in SDC. He appealed to the provincial administrative authorities to take notice of the affairs of SDC Mardan and give relief to public against corruption.
