27 outlaws arrested in Capital, Pindi




ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI - Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested 11 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 55 wine bottles, weapons, stolen cars and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said.
According to a press note issued from office of SSP Islamabad, ASI Khurram Shazad from Kohsar Police Station arrested a bootlegger Buta Masih and recovered 25 wine bottles from him. ASI Zulfaqar Ahmad from Margalla Police Station arrested a bootlegger Masood Ahmad and recovered 6 wine bottles and 24 cans of beer from him.
Meanwhile, ASI Naveed Tahir from Kohsar Police recovered two cars (LXL-2847, LXA-0018) from Ghulam Mustfa and Muhmmadi Gul. ASI Muhammad Akram from Nilore police station arrested two accused Tahir Mehmood and Muhammad Bilal for being involved in theft case and recovered stolen property worth thousands of rupees from them. Sub-Inspectors Javed Iqbal and Awais Muhammad from Shahzad Town Police Station recovered two pistols and one dagger used as murder tool by accused Noor Ahmad, Kamran and Muhmmad Mumtaz.
Sazbi Mandi police also nabbed three foreign nationals hailing from Nigeria and Tanzania as they could not produce documents for their stay in Pakistan.. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials for maintaining high vigilance in the city to curb activities of anti-social elements.
Our staff reporter from Rawalpindi adds: Police claimed to have arrested two dacoits and recovered a motorcycle and weapons from their possession.
The police spokesman informed media persons on Sunday that Police Station Airport officials received information that some suspects were present at Civil Centre. Taking action, Station House Officer Mian Afzaal and ASI Shehbaz Ahmed and other officials conducted a raid and arrested two dacoits, he added. Police also recovered a motorcycle and 2 pistols of 30 bore with 9 bullets from their possession, the spokesman said.
The dacoits, later, identified as Saif Ullah and Nasir Mehmood. Police were investigating the detainees, he stated.
Meanwhile, police, during its ongoing campaign against anti-social elements, nabbed some 14 illegal arms holders and drug peddlers from different localities of the city.
Police also seized 1865 grams of Charas, 25 bottles of liquor, three pistols of 30 bore with 8 bullets and a riffle of 7mm from their possession. Separate cases have been registered against all the detainees while further investigation was on, informed police spokesman.
