RAWALPINDI - Scores of activists of Sunni Tehrik (ST) and Anjuman Tulba Islam (ATI) staged massive protest demonstrations on Sunday outside Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club (RIPC) against anti-Islam film produced by an Israeli national in USA.
The charged protestors torched effigies of US President Barrack Obama and film producer Sam Basail, besides setting the US flag on fire. While holing placards and banners mentioned with anti-US and anti-government words, they also bellowed slogans against USA and the government. The asked the government to kick out US diplomats from the country as protest.
The most echoed slogan, chanted by the enraged protestors, was simple “We will sacrifice our lives and property for the dignity of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)”.
The first protest demonstration was held by ST Rawalpindi chapter on the call of ST Pakistan Head Muhammad Sarwat Ejaz. Led by Nufti Liaquat Ali Rizvi, Allam Tahir Iqbal Chishti, Sahibzada Atta-ur-Rehman Dhanial and Allama Wasim Abbasi, the protest demo was attended by scores of other activists. They set US flag, effigy of US President and film producer on fire, besides chanting slogans against them.
Addressing the participants, the speakers denounced the production of anti-Islam film, saying it hurt sentiments of Muslim Ummah across the globe. They said that US and the West committed a heinous crime by making this movie and the Muslim of the world should get united to tackle it. They endorsed what did by Muslim protestors with US instalments in Libya, Egypt and Yemen and other Arab countries saying: “No Muslim can tolerate blasphemy”.
The protestors, in a resolution, demanded that the US diplomats should be kicked out from Muslim countries including Pakistan while UN and OIC should also take notice of the devilish act. A large number of members of ATI, under the leadership of Rawalpindi Cannt Nazim Shaheer Sialvi and Nazim Faizabad Sohaib Sialvi, also registered their strong protest outside RIPC by torching effigies of US President and the film producer and US flag.
They were carrying placards and banners bristled with anti-US words and chanting slogans against the US President and filmmaker. The speakers demanded of the government to ban the film in the country and severe its ties with US and other Western countries.
Jammat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan Central Secretary General Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah and Rawalpindi Division Deputy General Secretary Abrar Ahmed Khan, while addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid Qadeemi at Mohan Pura, also denounced the making of blasphemous film.
They said that the anti-Islam powers had put the international peace into danger by producing such film. They asked the Muslims to shun all the differences and get united to foil the infidels’ plans. They said that the film producer had badly hurt the sentiments of Muslim Ummah by making anti-Islam film.
Pakistan should exile US Ambassador besides boycotting its diplomatic relations with US as protest, they urged.
Meanwhile, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajraan Bohar Bazaar will take out a protest rally from Bohar Bazaar to Committee Chowk today (Monday) at 3pm to protest the production of blasphemous movie in USA. The rally will be led by Tehrik-e-Islam head Allama Muhammad Haider Alvi and other trader representatives.
Meanwhile, the Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has called upon the Muslim rulers to adopt a joint and strong point of view against the ‘filmi’ terrorism of chief of the international colonial powers so as to declare upon them that we can bear everything but could not bear even a single word against Mashaheer-e-Din and Sha’air Allah.
He stated this while delivering his special address at the conclusion of the three-day ‘Ayyam Azmat-e-Islam’. He strongly condemned the van bomb blast incident in Lower Deer, KPK while expressing his deep-hearted condolence with the bereaved families, he prayed for the departed souls and demanded from the Govt for immediate strict actions against the terrorists and terrorism. He called upon the United Nations to take immediate notice of the universal protest the world over and devise such an international code under which desecration of heroes and holy signs of any religion and Masalik should be declared a cognisable offence, the controversial insulting film should be banned forthwith and such an action should be taken against the producers and exhibitors of this film that the whole world may know about it and no one may have the courage to insult any religion and their heroes.
