QUETTA - Pakistan Workers Federation Balochistan chapter staged a protest demo against the blasphemous movie and the targeted killings of labourers in Dasht area of district Mastung here on Sunday.

Hundreds of labourers gathered outside Quetta Press Club holding banners and placards in their hands inscribed with anti-US slogans.

They chanted slogans against the blasphemous movie and also cold blooded killing of the labourers in Dasht. The labourers vehemently chanted slogans against govt’s inefficiency to protect the lives of the labourers across the province.

Addressing the protesters, the President of the Federation Muhammad Ramzan demanded of the govt to expel the US Ambassador from the country as a protest against the blasphemous movie made in US.

He said that UN should legislate over such sensitive issues and should also stipulate punishments for the perpetrators of such acts. He, however, regretted that the US was killing the Muslims world over in the name of so called war against terrorism and extremism, adding, that the war against terror was a war against Islam and the Muslims.

He called upon all the Muslims to keep aside all their differences and unite against, what he regarded, the common enemy.

Similarly, he also regarded the attack on labourers in Dasht area of district Mastung as barbaric in which 10 labourers lost their lives and 7 others sustained injuries.

He said that such acts were against the basic principles of Islam and that of the Baloch and Pakhtun traditions.

He also stressed upon the government to ensure its writ in all parts of the province and abolish the Levies system, adding, that a uniform police system would improve the situation in all the districts.

He demanded of the government to announce Rs 2 million per person for the dependants of the labourers who lost their lives in Dasht incident. He also demanded of the government to ensure sufficient relief funds for the flood affectees of Naseerabad and Jaffarabad.
