LAHORE - Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayyat Gondal has ordered stepping up ongoing anti-dengue campaign in the province, saying that strict implementation of instructions regarding dengue control be ensured as no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the measure being taken to eradicate dengue, at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday.
The chief secretary said that anti-dengue day would be observed in Rawalpindi on September 19. He lauded the performance of departments regarding dengue control but directed them to remain alert.
The chief secretary said that awareness regarding dengue should be enhanced as people's cooperation is of significant importance in efforts to control dengue. He added that all departments should play active role in this regard. He said that in order to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to overcome dengue, heads of departments should review performance regularly and conduct field visits.
Those among present were: Advisor on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique, Additional Chief Secretary Syed Mubashir Raza, secretaries of different departments, and officers concerned.
Later, the chief secretary chaired a meeting of Commissioners regarding Kissan Package through video link. He directed commissioners to complete survey of Rice and Cotton crop as early as possible. He maintained that Kissan Package will go a long way in betterment of agriculture sector and resolving problems of farmers.
