LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that progress and prosperity of the country is the mission of the PML-N government which has made sincere efforts in this regard during last about two years.

The said this while talking to office-bearers and workers of PML-N, on Wednesday. He said the government is working hard to overcome problems of the people.

He said it is due to the remarkable policies of the government that the country is thriving economically.

The chief minister said carrying out selfless service to the masses as a mission government has introduced culture of transparency and maintenance of high standard in development projects. He said billion of rupees have been saved through holding successful negotiations with the lowest bidders for development projects which never in the country before.

Referring to Rs341bilion agriculture package, Shehbaz Sharif said it is the guarantee to the prosperity of the farmers. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has won the hearts of the cultivators by announcing the biggest agriculture package in Pakistan’s history. He said that the credit for farmer-friendly package goes to PML-N government.

He said that agri relief package is the voice of cultivators and the interests of small farmers have been given top priority under this package. The chief minister said that agriculture is the backbone of national economy and PML-N government has always protected the rights and interests of farmers.

He further said that the sit-ins last year caused a huge loss to national economy and tarnished the image of country at diplomatic level while investment was also interrupted. He said that an attempt was made to undermine the interests of the country for the achievement of personal ends due to which precious time of the nation was wasted.

He said that the negative impacts of the sit-ins on the country are still being felt. He said that the elements which wasted the precious time of the nation did not care about the country or the common man. He said that sit-ins caused damage to national dignity and besides delay in execution of development projects, the process of foreign investment was also stopped.

Referring to the projects aimed at welfare of the masses, Shahbaz Sharif said that billions of rupees are being spent on welfare projects of the masses as well as provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the citizens.

He said that every penny of public money is being spent honestly on the people and no effort will be spared for changing the destiny of the nation.
