LAHORE - The price control magistrates yesterday raided over 776 places in city and imposed fine of Rs25,500 on shopkeepers for selling commodities at inflated rates.
The CDGL magistrates also lodged FIRs against 62 people while 92 people were arrested out of which 21 were sent to jail directly on the spot.
Also, Punjab Food Authority yesterday sealed several eateries in the city over improper cleanliness measures at their respective restaurants.
The PFA Gulberg team raided Too Tasty restaurant at Peco Road and sealed the restaurant for not having medical licenses of workers, improper cleanliness measures, putting food items in washroom and dust over mincing machine.
The Samanabad teams of PFA carried out raids in Rehman Pura and sealed Al-Rehmat Hotel which was found using rotten eggs in food. The authority also sealed Usman Juice Corner for not having medical license of workers.
The Data Gunj Baksh and Shalimar Town teams sealed Abu Bakar Filtration Unit located at Gawalmandi and Aqua Safe on Mcleod Road over the presence of germs and more amount of turbidity in water.
