Rawalpindi-Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Raja took notice of water scarcity in the Police Lines Number 1 and ordered the department dealing with water supply to solve the lingering issue immediately.

He also ordered the building department to renovate the mosque located in the Police Lines, informed a police spokesman yesterday.

The Police Lines Number 1 have been facing acute water shortage for last many days while the families of police officers and officials were buying water from private tanker owners or used to fetch it from far-flung areas.

According to police spokesman, RPO Wisal Fakhar also inspected various parts of Police Lines and attended “Bara Khana” that has been hosted for the police officers and officials who performed Eid security duties in the district. RPO greeted Eid to his subordinates and enquired about the problems being faced by them.

The “Bara Khana” was also attended by City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, SSP (Operations) Irfan Tariq, Divisional SPs, DSPs and SHOs, he said. He added RPO also reinstated temporarily the suspended police officers and officials.

He said RPO appreciated the police officers and officials for guarding the Eid congregations in mosques, Imambargahs and other worship places besides the citizens in markets and shopping malls.

RPO was also presented a guard of honour upon his arrival at Police Line by a smart contingent of Punjab police. RPO also awarded cash prizes to the smart contingent of police.
