GUJRANWALA-More investigation officers have joined the team probing the embezzlement in oil purchase at Nandipur Power Station while the team will submit a report in this respect on 28th.
Six officials of Nandipur Power Plant have been directed by the investigation team not to get out of the power station till the completion of investigation.
During investigation, the six officials including store keeper Umer Farooq, senior clerk Munawar, Amant Ali, Shafique, Abdul Karim and Noor Ali Pathan were suspected to be involved in tearing the important documents of oil purchase record.
Head of inquiry team Shahid Sohail will submit his report to the federal government till September 18. Security In-charge Mehtab Alam, who was also involved in the corruption and was mysteriously absent from duty for last six days, has contacted the administration of power station and showed his willingness to appear before the inquiry team. Noor Ali has allegedly offered to play as approver in the case.
ROBBERS ON THE RAMPAGE
On the other side, citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in various hits. In Aroop police station limits near Alam Chowk, armed men intercepted Moazam and his wife and looted gold ornaments and Rs5,000.
In Tately Wali, Yasir and his wife were deprived of gold ornaments, Rs7,000 and two cellphones, at Kot Ladha bandits looted Rs17,000 and two cellphones from Yasir, in Qila Didar Singh three dacoits entered the general store of Fayyaz and looted Rs15,000 and other valuables, and in Wazirabad Saddr area, Haseeb was deprived of Rs13,000 and a cellphone.
At Kot Ladha, robbers snatched Rs25,000 and two cellphones from Abdul Hameed, at Ferozwala armed men took away Rs20,000 and cellphone from Ali Raza, and in Sabzi Mandi Police precincts dacoits took away Rs12,000 and cellphone. In theft incidents, a car of Arif, motorcycles of Siddique and Maqbool were stolen from different parts of the city.
On the other side, an FIA team, led by SHO Waqar Awan, conducted raids at different places and held five accused including two proclaimed offenders. It was reported that accused Faisal was arrested from Gujranwala, Mujtaba al Hassan from Mandi Bahauddin, while Maqsud Ahmed, Maqsood Durrani and Sabir Ali were arrested from Gujrat. All the accused were involved in sending people abroad on bogus documents.
