UBG to present economic revival plan to govt

LAHORE - The FPCCI will establish facilitation centres for Gwadar and CPEC not only in its Capital House but also in regional offices to help Pakistani businessmen get full information about these projects so that they can invest in these projects willingly.

These views were expressed by Chairman of United Business Group (UBG) of FPCCI Iftikhar Ali Malik during a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. He informed the finance minister that the FPCCI has asked the business leaders to prepare a detailed plan for economic recovery which will be presented to government for approval.

During the meeting, he said that the issues of real estate sector are not fully resolved and stakeholders have still several reservations. Many industries have gone sick which must be revived with the active support of the government while the inclination of industrialists towards real estate and trading must be seen as a threat, the veteran business leader added.

He informed the finance minister that FPCCI leadership has been working on plan for economic recovery which will be presented to the government soon. He said that recession has not only hit Pakistan but also Saudi Arabia. A lot of industries have gone dead that can be revived through investment by Pakistani entrepreneurs, he said.

He added that apart from industrial sector there are lot of opportunities in the kingdom in other sector that can be capitalised as Saudi government is diversifying the economy.

He also said that positive activities are gaining momentum ahead of elections of chamber of commerce which is heartening and he will start serving business community with a renewed vigour upon return to Pakistan.
