LAHORE - The Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Sunday ordered the CCPO Lahore and Anti-Narcotics Force to submit within a week a report on the availability and the alleged use of narcotics by students in government and private educational institutions.

The court passed the order on a petition that the availability of narcotics in educational institutions would ruin the future of the younger generation.

A petitioner said that the contraband could be purchased as easily as the ice cream.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that the narcotics would have to be eliminated for the future of the younger generation.

The SC also sought comments from the Attorney General for Pakistan and the Advocate General Balochistan about deaths of 318 mine workers over the past eight years.
