Here is an appeal to the Prime Minister from the contract employees of National Insurance Company Limited. National Insurance Corporation (NIC) was converted into National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) wef Jan 01, 2001. The old employees of NIC maintained their employment status in NICL with their old terms of services i.e. they are still entitled for pension/commutation, bonuses, annual increments, promotions, salary/scale revisions, interest free loans for House/plot and car/motor cycle etc. We are more than 30% of the total employees strength who are working in NICL on contract basis for a number of years. We need your kind attention and immediate action for the regularization of our jobs. We would also like to draw your attention to another serious matter that the Government of Pakistan has revised its pay scales three times during 2001 to 2008 and also announced Ad hoc Relief in order to compensate its employees but unfortunately there is no scale revision for the contract employees of NICL. The inflation rate prevailing in the country for the last couple of years is in double figures and our real income has depleted considerably.
