Thai police on Monday has said that insurgents have killed a paramilitary ranger and wounded 23 other people in a car bombing in southern Thailand. According to voice of America, the car bomb exploded as paramilitary troops passed by in a pick-up truck on a busy street in Yala. The blast killed one ranger and wounded six officers along with 19 civilians. Yala is one of three Muslim-dominated provinces bordering Malaysia, where a low-level separatist insurgency has killed at least 4,300 people since 2004. The victims have been both Buddhist and Muslim.
