ATTOCK - Dead bodies of eight unidentified bearded men with torn clothes were recovered from a dry well near Attock Haji Shah road, eight km away from here on Sunday morning, police said. The ages of the slain persons are between 22 to 32 years. Police were informed about the presence of the bodies by a local resident via telephone. The bodies were later shifted to DHQ Hospital, Attock for post mortem. District Police Officer Dr Akhtar Abbas told reporters that the persons might have killed some three or four days ago and later the killers threw their bodies into the well. He said there were no torture marks on their bodies nor did the police find any identification documents from their clothes. The DPO said all the slain men were having beards but their association with any organisation was yet to be ascertained. However, they didnt seem to be the residents of Attock district, he added. To a question, the DPO said it was not an act of terrorism. The bodies have been shifted to DHQ Hospital and after the post mortem report we will be able to know the exact cause of their death, he said, adding that investigation into the incident had been started. The medical superintendent of DHQ Hospital, Dr Khalid Mehmood, said a six-member team of doctors was performing post mortem. He said so far post mortem of two bodies had been completed and disclosed that according to preliminary medical observation, both of them were strangulated. However, a detailed post mortem report would be handed over to the police after fulfilling all the medico-legal formalities, he added.
