West’s double standards

In a move that is a poor reflection on West’s freedom of speech, Lord Nazir Ahmed’s membership from the Labour party has been suspended after he reportedly set a 10 million pounds bounty on President Obama and President Bush for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lord Nazir had made the announcement in Haripur in the wake of the US bounty for Hafiz Saeed. In his speech he had also made comments deriding Tony Blair’s role in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. However in his explanation, Lord Nazir clarified that he did not offer the bounty but had called for bringing both the leaders to justice for unjust military adventures.
We all know that it was a trumped up charge of weapons of mass destruction and also people were made to believe that Al-Qaeda was hand in glove with the Iraqi regime. Since this false justification was a stepping stone to cause bloodshed in Iraq and Afghanistan, there is no reason why the architect of that war Bush and his partners in crime should not be made to face the UN war crimes tribunal. To all intents and purposes, the death of millions of Muslims in both the countries during the past decade amounts to a genocide of the Muslim population for which Lord Nazir or any other individual for that matter has all the right to demand war crime proceedings. The labour party should have more tolerance for voices of dissent.
