10-party Opp alliance to defeat PPP



karachi Former chief minister of Punjab and PML-N leader, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the ten-party alliance of opposition parties in Sindh has finalised the consensus candidates to defeat the PPP in the province.He was addressing a press conference after chairing a parliamentary board meeting of provincial chapter of party here in city on Wednesday. Shahbaz while expressing pleasure over the disqualification of former dictator Pervez Musharraf termed Election Tribunal’s decision of rejecting former President’s nomination papers as voice of the nation. He said Musharraf broke the Constitution, so rejection of his nomination papers was clear. “It would have been unfair with the country if Musharraf was given green signal for upcoming elections.”On the directives of PML-N chief, Shahbaz Sharif arrived here to resolve the matters of party tickets to the party candidates as well as issues in the ten-party alliance for next elections.He held meeting of the party’s parliamentary board, which was also attended by the party’s provincial chief Ghaus Ali Shah, Liaquat Jatoi, Saleem Zia, Nihal Hashmi and other leaders. Sources said that party’s lower cadre leaders complained that the provincial leaders committed nepotism in awarding and selecting the candidates for reserved seats.Shahbaz in his press conference said that people of Sindh would protect their votes from those who looted the money of nation in last government. He confidently said that PML-N and ten-party alliance would succeed in the next elections as big idles of the PPP would suffer defeat in the polls.He expressed anger and concern over the attacks on the election rallies, saying that it was the responsibility of the caretaker government and election commission to ensure peace and maintenance of law and order.He demanded the caretaker government to provide security to the politicians and candidates in the polls.He opined that May 11 will bring change in the country, hoping that the people would elect honest leadership to run the affairs of the country.Talking about the former dictator, he said that Musharraf was a violator of constitution of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan have rejected him and he was involved in assassination of Akbar Bugti and many others.The rejection of his nomination papers as a result of his own deeds, he said, adding that Imran Khan alleged of corruption against his government but he was unable to prove those allegations.He claimed that if people selected them then his government will end the power crisis within two years. “We will make changes in the outdate transportation system of Karachi and replicate the Lahore transport system of metro-buses in Karachi.”He demanded to change all four politically-appointed governors before elections.Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif also met with the PML-F chief and Hurs’ spiritual leader Pir Pagara and discussed the seat adjustments between the two parties. Shahbaz said he had honour and respect for Pir Pagara, claiming that seat adjustment is finalised between the two parties amicably.
