LAHORE  -  Dacoits robbed four houses at gunpoint in different parts of the Lahore on Wednesday and made off with cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables worth Rs4.5 million, police sources claimed.

Five gunmen stormed the house of Mrs Afzaal in Naseerabad police limits and held up the family members at gunpoint. The bandits locked the victims in one of the rooms and escaped after collecting cash, prize bonds, and gold ornaments worth two million rupees.

Four armed bandits forced their entry into the house Zeshan in the Harbanspura police vicinity and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1.2 million after holding the inmates’ hostage at gunpoint.

Three robbers equipped with automatic weapons barged into the house of Shabbir Ahmed in the Kahna police precincts. The robbers held up all his family members at gunpoint and snatched away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs800000.

Armed bandits walked into the residence of one Kashif in the Johar Town police limits and fled away after collecting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs500000.

Three gunmen burst into the hardware store of Muhammad Usman in the Ghaziabad police area, held up the salesmen at gunpoint and snatched away Rs500000.

In other separate road robberies, robbers riding on motorcycles also looted families, passersby, and motorists in the Mozang, Satu Katla, Shahdara, Garden Town, Nawan Town, South Cantonment and Mughalpura police areas and escaped after snatching cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs1.7 million at gunpoint.

Meanwhile, four cars were driven away from Qila Gujjar Singh, Johar Town, Gulberg, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal police limits. At least 14 motorcycles were either snatched or stolen away from the Qila Gujjar Singh, Lytton Road, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shera Kot, Ravi Road, Gujjarpura, Nawan Kot, Shahdara, Green Town, Raiwind, Township, Kot Lakhpat, Gowalmandi, and Defense-A police limits. The police are investigating.
