The Press freedom Organisation and Rural Media Network Pakistan will organise two workshops on "Covering Elections 2013" in Ahmedpur East and Yezman on May 1 and 2, respectively.

More than 50 district correspondents will attend the two training workshops which will be moderated by former Research Coordinator Asia-Pacific Research Institute Tokyo University Japan Khalid Saeed. RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar said that elections were a great challenge for the media. He said that the challenge of objectivity, impartiality and balance was being faced by Pakistani journalists on daily basis, there is no test of professionalism greater than posed by political elections. Journalists' role is primarily to be a link among voters, the community and political leadership.

Journalists are not the voice-box for politics alone, they also provide access to ordinary people so their voices can be heard.
