Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that Mashal Khan was not involved in blasphemy. Visiting the Abdul Wali Khan University student's house to condole with his family Khan said Mashal was the victim of a conspiracy.
The PTI chairman further said that important suspects and involved elements have been arrested by the KP police. “The entire nation is united on one point that it was a murder and everyone wants the convicts to be punished severely,” he said.
While talking to media at Mashal Khan's house Imran mentioned that if any PTI worker is involved in this crime he will be punished. “Every involved person regardless his political association will be dealt with iron hands,” Khan said.
"The whole nation saw what they did to Mashal. Even animals do not act in such a manner," added Khan.
Khan met the family of Mashal Khan, the AKWU student who was lynched by a mob of students on Thursday.
Earlier, the PTI Chairman said he is constantly in touch with KP IG Police over the issue and vowed that this issue will not be taken normally.
Khan had stated that ‘rule of jungle will not be allowed in KP’ after that lynching of Mashal Khan in AWKU.
Furthermore, KP Police will present its detailed investigation report in front of Supreme Court today.
Yesterday, KP IG Police Salahudin Mehsood told the press that there is no evidence that Mashal Khan or his friends committed blasphemy.
