Karachi violence continues; death toll reaches 46

Violence turned deadliest in financial capital of the country where a van of private bank abducted on Thursday while death toll in troubled city climbed to 46 in 24 hours. According to media reports, a van of private bank with 13 workers onboard was abducted from Agara Taj Chowk. 12 workers were released later however unknown miscreants held one person in their custody. Two men were also kidnapped from a bus at Baghdadi town of Liyari area. Situation of Liyar, Sher Shah, Mari pur, Agra Taj Chowk and Baldia town turned to the nastiest where more than 40 people have lost their lives. At least 22 bodies have overnight been recovered from various areas of the metropolis, pushing the overall death tally during last 24 hours to 46. The latest two bodies were recovered from Baldia Town area. Earlier, at least three bodies were recovered from Baldia Town, Sector-19D, five from X3 bus stop, two from Mauripur, four from the vicinity of Shershah Pankha Hotel, one from Ghani Chowrangi, three from Lee Market, three from Garden and one body each was recovered from Saeedabad and Manghopir areas of the metropolis. Police and other law enforcement agencies failed to control mass killing of innocent people and watching the situation like speculators.
