PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Governor Barrister Masood Kausar said that he wanted some practical steps for solution of IDPs problems, as they were in a pathetic condition.
He asked the officers of Fata Secretariat to personally visit the IDPs camps to know about their problems and to find out their solutions. This he said during a presentation on overall IDPs situation given to him in a meeting, which was attended by ACS Fata, Secretary L&O Fata and DG FDMA at Governor’s House, Peshawar. The governor said that IDPs should not be given the feelings of beggars, as they had left their homes for the sake of their nation and asked to provide them the basic facilities of life. He said that they should know about the problem of IDPs and should find out their solutions, as this was their basic responsibility to be fulfilled.
He said that middle-aged women to be employed to take care of IDPs women as they know the issues of women well and can best handle their problems. He said that there may not be the best system available but at least the basic facilities of life should be provided to IDPs to lead their lives comfortably. He said that their performance should be perfect so far as their domain of responsibility regarding IDPs is concerned. He directed the concerned officers to submit a monthly report of their performance and asked them that there should be no negligence in managing the problems of IDPs.
Meanwhile, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Transport Department has lifted ban on the issuance of fresh route permits for stage carriage passenger vehicles in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa subject to the fulfillment of all formalities including installation of fire extinguishers in Stage Carriage Passenger Vehicles, said a notification.
All the permits for stage carriage vehicles will be issued with approval of the Chairman Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) on recommendation of the Chairman of the respective Regional Transport Authority. The Secretary PTA will also ensure approval of the Chairman PTA for issuance of all such route permits for stage carriage passenger’s vehicles under his jurisdiction.
Meanwhile another notification said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has lifted ban on issuance of route permits to 4-stroke Rickshaws in Peshawar.
