ISLAMABAD - Pakistan under 19 cricket team under the watchful eyes of head coach Sabih Azhar is producing wonders for the country, as first they remained unbeaten in the recently concluded U-19 Asia Cup where they shared the trophy with India because the final was tied.

Pakistan u-19 had so far won all their World Cup U-19 matches in Group B to top their group without conceding a single game, winning all the matches with utmost ease and comfort. The most satisfactory thing for the entire team and nation is that boys are not relying on some certain individuals, as all the players are contributing in one or another way.

Now the most important task lies ahead for the young guns is to face the arch-rivals India in the quarterfinal on 20th. If the boys manage to beat India, which they are fully capable of doing so, the win will not only confirm their status as the top team not only in the subcontinent but also in the entire Asia and it will also enhance their credentials for the future.

Talking exclusively with this scribe from Brisbane, Australia, Pakistan u-19 team head coach Sabih Azhar was of full praise for his squad. “I am totally satisfied with my boy’s performance as they are picking at the right time. We have won all the three matches in the group so far we played. Although all the victories were achieved comfortably yet we will not sit back, as there is no room for complacency neither the team can afford that,” he said.

“Although Indians are tough opponents and the pressure is always on both sides when we play against each other at any level or format but I am sure the way my boys are playing, we will pull off victory and beat India in the crucial quarterfinal match,” he added.

“It will be typical Pak-India match and our players are very excited and ready to deliver. By the grace of Allah, we will give the nation Eid gift by defeating India in the quarterfinal. The players are working very hard and fully focused on the task ahead. I will take this opportunity and appeal to the entire nation to pray for Pakistan’s success,” Sabih concluded.

Meanwhile Pakistan U-19 team captain Babar Azam, while talking to this scribe, said: “Our morale is sky high as boys are performing exceptionally well and I am quite confident we will came out in flying colours against India in the quarterfinal.”

“The team is playing like one unit and everybody wants to contribute to help lift the coveted World Cup trophy. We will not relax and will try our best to perform exceptionally well against arch-rivals and gift the victory to our nation as an Eid gift,” Babar concluded.
