I wish I was tougher: Eva Green

Eva Green loves being able to say things in movies she wouldn’t be confident enough to utter in everyday life.
The 34-year-old actress loves her career because it allows her to embody different people. For her that can be quite a challenge, as she is pretty shy in reality.
I’m not confident in real life, she told British magazine Hello, I’m drawn to playing characters who aren’t like me because sometimes they’re the people I wish I could be in real life. If somebody annoys you, you say, ‘Off with their head.
Eva’s mother Marlène Jobert is also a successful actress, although she stepped away from the profession in her 40s. She began to hate being judged on her appearance and wanted to live a simpler existence away from the cameras. Her job always stuck with Eva though, who initially ruled out a career in front of the camera as she didn’t want to be unfavourably compared to her mom. ‘At first I didn’t want to. I always did love acting but for a long time I kept it secret because I thought, ‘People are going to think, ‘She wants to be famous like her mother,’’ so I felt I didn’t have the right to do it,’ she explained. ‘Then I saw Isabelle Adjani in The Story of Adele H. and fell so much in love with her work that I had to give it a try. I still love Adjani - she’s so extreme and powerful. She’s a great inspiration to me.’
