KP committed to create a favourable environment

PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour and Mineral Development, Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli has said that the provincial government is fully committed to create a favourable environment for employment and sustainable development in the province.

She added that the province has a vast potential of rapid economic growth besides rich mineral resources which can be helpful in economic sustainability.

She said the provincial government had taken eminent steps for industrial development that’s why the industrialists were investing their money in this sector at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

She said this while addressing the opening ceremony of Supplier Development Program, a joint project of KP government, UNDP and SMEDA for promotion of small and medium scale enterprises in the province at Peshawar on Wednesday.

On this occasion, Secretary Industries Farah Hamid Khan, Secretary P&D Syed Zafar Ali Shah, UNDP Country Director Marc-Andre Franche, KPEZDMC’s Chief Commercial Officer Adil Salahuddin, business community and people belonging to different walks of life were present.

It is to be mentioned that the aim of the said programme is to create employment opportunities, improvement of small and medium enterprises and encouraging young entrepreneurs.

The minister said that with the support of UNDP, the SDP programme would be helpful in the sustainability of industrial sector.

She said due to this initiative, the industries would get new technology, increase their production and industrial production will get boost in and abroad the country.

She added that the provincial government would provide a feasible atmosphere for implementation of the said programme.

Secretaries of Industries and P&D Departments, UNDP Country Director and others also spoke to the ceremony.
