ISLAMABAD - By-elections on 37 vacant seats of the national and provincial assemblies will be held across the country on October 14.

The Election Commission of Pakistan, which issued schedule for by-elections on Friday, said that nomination papers can be filed from 28 August to 30th of this month. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted by September 4.

It further said that candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 15 September and election symbols will be allotted to candidates on September 16. The breakup of 37 vacant seats includes eleven National Assembly seats; thirteen Punjab Assembly; nine KPK Assembly and two constituencies each of Sindh and Balochistan assemblies.
