PML-N to ‘thwart threat’ to democracy: Hamza Shehbaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that PML-N knows how to exercise its democratic right.

The PML-N leader said that the people want the culprits behind the ‘vote theft’ to be held accountable and PML-N would work to stop this threat to democracy.

Speaking in the party’s parliamentary party meeting, the son of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif said that PML-N would not let PTI have a ‘free hand’ in Punjab. “There should be an end to stealing public mandate. People want accountability of vote theft,” he added.

Hamza Shehbaz said that the party will keep on pressing on the matter of electoral rigging till an investigation into the matter happens. “But the party does not want to do anything that would hurt the country’s democracy.

The new Punjab CM will be elected tomorrow at a session scheduled for 11am. Both, Hamza Shehbaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Usman Buzdar have submitted their papers for the post of chief minister Punjab.
