PESHAWAR - At least two persons were killed and four other got injured in two separate explosions in Kurram Agency on Tuesday.

According to political administration, the landmine blasts occurred in the areas of Pewar and Hamuzai of the agency. Besides, a vehicle was also damaged in the explosion.

Soon after the incident the rescue teams and security forces rushed the area and cordoned off the area. The security forces collected evidence from the scene.  The rescue teams shifted the injured and dead bodies to the nearby hospitals. Officials while confirming these happenings said that a vehicle hit a landmine in Pewar leaving two persons dead and two others wounded and two more persons were injured in another landmine blast in Humzai.


Staff Reporter from Miranshah adds: At least 17 security personnel sustained injuries in three separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday.

According to reports, a convoy of the security forces was targeted with two separate IEDs near Esha Check Post, subsequently 16 security men sustained injuries, while one soldier sustained wounds in the third similar IED explosion occurred near Patasi Adda. Moreover, vehicles were also damaged in the blast.

Some of the injured were in critical condition. The injured security men were shifted to the nearby hospital, while the security forces started search operation in the area.

Sources said that remote-controlled bombs went off when the security personnel were passing through these localities. However, no loss of life was reported. Nobody claimed responsibility for the blasts. But in the past Taliban militants have targeted security forces personnel in tribal areas.
