PESHAWAR - Expressing grave concern over the kidnappings of doctors for ransom and existing worsening security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Dr Hussain Ahmad Haroon, urged the government to ensure safe and early recovery of Dr Amjad Taqveem.

Talking to media persons here on Monday, Dr Hussain Haroon said that the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government was failed to maintain law and order situation, after taking mandate. He added that kidnapping for ransom has turned into a very easy and profitable business, while the security personnel were performing as silent spectators.

The PMA President further said that people especially the doctors' community was on the disposal of the kidnappers and criminals, as the government and law enforcing agencies were failed to device any strategy to take to task the outlaws in the province.

The doctors' community protested against the kidnapping incidents but the government turned deaf ears towards the miseries of doctors' community. He also alleged that now the government compelling them to take guns in hands for personal security, which, he said, was regrettable. He urged the government to take solid steps for release of Dr Taqveem, otherwise the PMA would be compelled to launch a province-wide protest against the rulers. Dr Hussain Haroon on behalf of the PMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appealed to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court to take suo moto action of the kidnapping for ransom of Dr Amjad Taqveem and help ensure his safe and early release.
