PESHAWAR- Friends of terrorists are traitors of Pakistan; their apologists are accomplices to murder of our children, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sherry Rehman said today .

Accompanied by former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Rehman addressing a press conference in Peshawar said time has come to draw a line between the apologists and enemies of terrorists. “The world has no idea of the level of sacrifices rendered by the people Pakistan in this fight against terrorism,” she said, as she reminded everyone that the frontline is not on the border but inside our homes and schools now.

“The terrorists have been targeting our men and women and now they are killing our children; they want to destroy our future” the PPP leader said, adding that this war cannot be won by courage alone. “Courage runs in our blood but what we need is planning and unity,” she stressed. Time has come for a decision and anyone who presents justification for acts of terrorism will be regarded as a traitor. "Whoever is a friend of the terrorists is a traitor," Rehman said.

Rehman urged that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not remain the victims and instead become those who will lead the war against terrorists. She further requested the media to play its role and make sure terrorist apologists are not given airtime. “Media also needs to hold the country’s leadership accountable to its promises,” she added. “Whoever started this fire, our house is burning now and we will have put it out,” she said, adding that life cannot go on as usual anymore.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said the size of war against terrorism is bigger than a size of any government. He said the PPP is standing with government and the nation in war against terrorism.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said that the world had not witnessed an attack as ghastly as the Peshawar school massacre.

He said the most important objective of the Multi-Party Conference held in Peshawar yesterday was to establish an understanding that the war against terror is Pakistan's fight. Not an internal dispute between two groups. He underscored that the country's armed forces had given immense sacrifices.
