KHAIRPUR - Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested five criminals and recovered weapons and drugs from their possession.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur Shabir Ahmed Sethar, police on spy information when reached national highway Tando Musti to arrest criminals, they opened fire on police party. Police also retaliated the same way, resultantly, police succeed to arrest a notorious criminal Yousuf Chandio in injured condition and recovered one KK and a stolen motorcycle from his possession while his four accomplice managed to flee.
The injured criminal brought to civil hospital for treatment. The SSP said that arrested criminal was wanted to police in 15 heinous crimes.
Meanwhile Sethrja police raided near Ali Bahar Wah and arrested three drug peddlers Naveed Ahmed Hesbani, Mujahid Hesbani and Nadi Hesbani and recovered 48 bottles of alcohol from their possession.
Sethraj police claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal Ahsan Gopang after raid near Setharja.
Police said Ahsan was wanted to police and was absconder since long.
Police registered cases against the arrested criminals and further investigating were underway.
WOMAN DIES
A woman died and two others sustained injuries in a road accident near Tando Musti on Sunday.
According to details, two speeding motorcycles collided with each other near Forri Narejo link road, resultantly women Sugra Kalhoro, 45, died on the spot while two others sustained injuries.
Police reached the spot and shifted the injured to Gambat Hospital in critical condition. The injured, later, referred to Larkana Hospital.
The body of woman was handed over to her relatives after medico legal formalities.
Hingorja remained shut
Hingorja remained shut on Sunday against increasing crime rate.
According to details, all markets remained closed in Hingorja on the call of social organisation against increased crime rate.
The traders said that citizens and business community were feeling unsafe due to increased crime rate and they were not in a position to run their business.
They demanded to provide protection to them and arrest the criminals otherwise they would not open their shops.
