KAMALIA -  A big rally in connection with "Youme Tahafuz Al-Quds" was taken out from Govt High School No-1 here the other day. The rally, led by Kamalia Assistant Commissioner (AC) Hafiz Najeeb and Municipal Committee (MC) Chairman Malik Sharif, culminated at Kalima Chowk.

Former chairman Municipality Rai Ziaullah, chief officer Rao Shafiqur Rehman, civil society representatives, prominent political and social figures and students participated in the rally. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with pro-Palestine and pro-Jerusalem slogans.

In his address, AC Hafiz Najeeb said that Israeli occupation of the Jerusalem will not be tolerated. "Al-Quds is sacred to the whole Muslim world. The United States decision to recognise Jerusalem as the Israeli capital is condemnable and will not be accepted," he said.

MC Chairman Malik Sharif said in his address that Al-Quds was first Qibla of Muslims and its protection is part of the Muslims' faith. "We stand with Palestinian people in freedom of their homeland," he stated.

FOUR FUEL STATIONS SEALED

Assistant Commissioner Hafiz Najeeb inspected fuel stations owned by Rafiq and Sultan at Mauza Qadir Bakhsh here the other day. The fuel stations were found unlicensed. Saddr police registered cases on the complaint of the AC.

On the other hand, Naib Tehsildar Muhammad Nawaz inspected two fuel stations at Chak 722 G/B. The stations had been selling petrol at exorbitant price and therefore were sealed.
