KASUR  - Eight persons including two women were killed in different road accidents and incidents of domestic violence here on Sunday, according to police.

Rescue sources informed that four persons were killed after a car rammed into two qingqi rickshaws parked on a roadside near Pakki Haveli, Wadana Stop on Ferozepur Road here on Sunday. Police said that the accident occurred due to speeding. The deceased were identified as Aftab (25), son of Babar; Adnan (25), son of Ibrahim and resident of Kot Abdul Malik; Nauman, son of Shaukat; and Nadeem son of Nawaz. They were sitting on the rickshaws when the car rammed into the vehicles. Five others had sustained injuries in the accident. They were rushed to hospital. Bodies of the deceased were also shifted to Kasur District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy. The car driver managed to speed away.

The incident was brought in the knowledge of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The CM expressed grief over the loss of precious human lives and directed the administration to provide best medical care to the injured.

At Chak 2, Nizampura, Kasur, an elderly woman died after being shoved by grandchild on refusal to give him money. The deceased was identified as Azizan Bibi, 70. Her grandchild, Khalil, demanded some money from her which she refused. It enraged Khalil and he shoved his grandmother. The elderly woman fell on the ground, became unconscious and died. Chunian Saddr police registered a case against the accused on the complaint of heirs. At Naroki Mahja, Kasur, a motorcyclist, Nabeel Ahmed, resident of Behrwal, was on the way to Pattoki when the motorbike he was travelling on was hit by a speeding trailer, killing him on the spot.

In Lodhran, two siblings were killed in collision between a truck and motorcycle. Police said that the accident took place here on Bahawalpur Road due to reckless driving by the truck driver. He sped away from the scene. Bodies of the deceased siblings (brother and sister) were shifted to hospital for post-mortem. Police registered a case against the truck driver.
