ISLAMABAD- The Pakistani rupee weakened by 05 paisas against the US dollar in the inter-bank trading on Friday and closed at Rs178.03 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs177.98. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs180.5 and Rs181.8 respectively. Similarly, the price of the Euro appreciated by 33 paisas and closed at Rs201.52 against the last day’s trading of Rs201.19, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen gained one paisa to close at Rs1.56, whereas an increase of Rs0.91 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs236.96 as compared to its last closing of Rs236.05. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham increased by 02 paisas to close at Rs48.47 and Saudi Riyal increased by 01 paisas to close at Rs47.44.
