CJ takes suo motu notice of two rape cases

Islamabad - Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Tuesday took two more suo motu notices on separate complaints regarding rape cases and directed the concerned police authorities to informed apex court whether any action was taken against the culprits. One of these cases was reported in Faisalabad where a 14-year-old girl, Kausar Parvin was raped in Asghar Abad area where it has been alleged that accused named Mithoo, Riazul-ul-Haq, Biloo and one unidentified person kidnapped and raped her when she was on the way to her aunt's house. Mater was reported to local police but no action was taken against the alleged rapists. Taking note of the highhandedness of culprits and slackness of local police, Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has directed DIG Faisalabad to submit the report of the incident action taken through DPO, in the court on February 23. In the second case, Chief Justice of Pakistan had come to know that a widow, Saira was repeatedly gang raped in Lari Adda area of District Gujrat. It was complained that accused Khalid Mahmood along with his five friends namely Ghulam Abbas alia Jani, Muhammad Ali, Jamil alias Billa Butt, and two unidentified persons committed the heinous offence. It is horrifying to know that FIR of the incident was lodged with PS Lari Ada but no one was brought to book and again she was kidnapped and raped by the same people. Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has ordered DIG Gujrat to submit the report of the incident and its progress through DPO Gujrat on February 23 positively in the Supreme Court.
