I was shocked to read in the daily Nawa-i-Waqt Rawapindi of January 31, 2009 that the question paper of FPSC examination for the posts of Assistant Directors was out before the commencement of examination on January 18, 2009. And the FPSC even after having the information of this fiasco still went ahead and conducted the examination. FPSC is the supreme body for making a transparent and fair selection from among the candidates for civil services of Pakistan. If these kinds of flaws exist even in such an elite organization, how would the deserving candidates be selected for various posts? I request the FPSC administration to immediately stop the results of the aforementioned posts and conduct the examination afresh so that eligible candidates can be selected in a fair manner. -NIAZ AHMAD, Wah Cantt., via e-mail, January 31. He delivered...or did he? Bhutto Shaheed promised his people roti, kapra aur makan. He started two large factories one was to produce roti and it did - five rotis for just four rupees, and they were delicious. The second produced shalwar-kameez at cheap rates. It did a good job of producing quality shalwar-kameez that suited the pockets of the people. Soon after, Shaheed Bhutto's downfall, these factories vanished in the thin air. One wonders what happened. I request the old, PPP Jiyalas to find out and let us know the fate of these factories. Right now people are in desperate need of cheap roti and cheap shalwar-kameez. As for the makan, even Shaheed Bhutto could do nothing about that. It remained a promise on paper. -COL (Retd) R.M. AKHTAR, Lahore Cantt, February 14.
